Economic Growth in Hungary: Current Developments and Outlook
The Hungarian Economic Society and ICEG EC (with support from the Commerzbank and the National Development Office) jointly organised a conference on the 9th December, 2005 with the title "Economic Growth in Hungary: Current Developments and Outlook".
The main aim of the conference was to analyze the current and future growth performance of the Hungarian economy from three aspects:
- the effect of economic growth of the Euro Area on the Hungarian economy;
- Hungary's recent and future growth performance in a Central European context;
- chief analysts', economic politicians' and researchers' opinion about the short-term outlook of economic growth in Hungary.
The presentations and discussions of the morning plenary session were followed by a sectoral and regional panel in the afternoon. In this latter, well-known CEO's, representatives of regional development agencies and leaders of consultancy firms made an attempt at evaluating the growth outlook of different sectors and regions.
