The Hungarian Business Leaders Forum (HBLF) and ICEG European Center organised a high-level one-day conference

Financial Summit VII. - Forward or back?

Venue: Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal (43-49. Erzsébet krt., H-1073 Budapest)

Building upon the tradition of our conference series the recent event in April focused again on the positive social and professional dialogue. The event dealt with questions concerning fiscal adjustment, public finance reforms and economic growth, with special focus on healthcare reforms and on planned tax reforms.

Istvan Stumpf and Lajos Bokros were again the key-note speakers. Borbála Czakó and Pál Gáspár were the organizers and facilitators of the summit. Jan Vincent-Rostowski the Minister of Finance of Poland was the special guest of the event. The other guest of the conference was András Simor, the President of the Hungarian National Bank. Our traditional finance minister roundtable welcomed János Veres the acting, Mihály Kupa, Mihály Varga and Tibor Draskovics Minister of Justice and Law Enforcement, former Ministers of Finance. Other current and former government officials, international experts, leading economists and the academic community within the framework of a roundtable discussion presented their views on the challenges the Hungarian economy and public finances: Ágnes Horváth, Árpád Kovács, György Szapáry, Szabolcs Vámosi-Nagy, Lajos Molnár, László Békesi, Gyula Kincses, Árpád Gógl, István Fekete, János Samu.
