Supplements and proposals for the revision of the National Action Plan

Aim of the project:

GKM as the procurer assigned the task of examining the first version of the National Action Plan to ICEG EC with special emphasis laid on the critiques from the EU Commission. It was ICEG EC's main task to work out proposals for improving the relevant chapters of the document.

In the first part of the project a study was prepared focusing on the microeconomic chapter of the National Action Plan. More specifically, systems of indicators were created on the fields of research and development, innovation, information and communication technology and the business environment of small- and medium size enterprises. The indicators were chosen to fulfil a triple purpose: to enable one to evaluate the current situation on these fields, to be able to capture progress in these fields and to be eligible for assigning target values to them. Based on these indicators some proposals were formed about the possible future measures to improve the situation in the above mentioned areas.

In the second part of the project an opinion was formed about the consistency between the different chapters (one on the macroeconomic issues, another on the microeconomic issues and a third on employment issues) of the National Action Plan.
