Expected Effects of the EU Accession on the Visegrád Countries: Analysis of the Sector-Specific Effects of the EU Accession on the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia

 

ICEG European Center with AMCHAM coordinated a research project that analysed the likely sector effects of EU accession in the four Visegrad countries. The project included preparation of 24 sector studies and an international conference. The background studies of the conference were prepared by the ICEG European Center and its partner institutions. They analysed the costs and benefits of accession in Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia on the level of individual sectors.

The overviews of the effects of EU accession of the machinery, chemical industry, banking sector, telecommunications, electric energy industry and pharmaceutical industry in the four analysed countries are available under Studies.

The conference organised on 20-21 March, 2003 in Hilton Hotel WestEnd, Budapest assessed the likely effects the EU accession on the four Visegrád countries with a special focus of its impact on the mentioned sectors.
