External financing of Hungarian small and medium - sized enterprises between 2000 - 2005

Aim of the Project:

The project involved a background study for the Ministry of Economy and Transport analysing developments in SME financing. External financing opportunities on three markets (bank loans, leasing and factoring) were assessed for the period between 2000-200. Besides data collection and analysis the project included ten interviews with experts of financial institutions. The study analysed developments ont he three sub-markets, summarised the experience with government regulation and financing tools, and made some policy recommendations. The project was completed between January-May 2006.
