Broadband coverage in Europe

Aim of the Project:

Following the adoption of the i2010 strategy for the Information Society, the Commission requires precise data regarding broadband coverage in Europe in order to draw conclusions concerning the effectiveness of policy and measure progress towards the i2010 objectives. The main objective of the study is the collection of broadband data for the period 2006 - 2008 (a data collection every six months) and coverage of the 25 Member States (Romania and Bulgaria not included) plus Iceland and Norway.

The main contractor for the project is IDATE ( www.idate.fr ), while ICEG European Center is responsible for the eight Central European and Baltic countries.
